NOT NEAR AS GOOD AS PRIOR MODEL
I have been waiting for a grey version of this and i bought one as soon as it came out. the lining , pockets etc are way cheaper than the other essex vests I own. Horrible...bring back the old version even if it costs more...this version is cheap and thin. not near as warm or soft. I have the old version in blue, black, green and brown

Average quality
The quality of the down filling and inner pockets is not as good as last year’s Essex vest, while still more expensive. The size is also different. I bought a large last year and need a medium this year. At least I was able to exchange it easily.

Not as good as prior version of this Vest
I own the prior version of the Essex in Navy with the brown suede trim. This newer version no longer has the suede liner along the back of the vest or along the zipper or inside the pockets. Just polyester everywhere. Might as well be a purchase from target as I feel cheated on this purchase. No longer worth the ridiculous $245 for just the Peter Millar name if this is the level of quality you're going to receive. Fit is the same though and still LOOKS nice...just not near the quality of the previous generation of the vest.

Cutting Corners on Quality
Previous versions of this best were worth the large tag. This updated version is hardly worth $80. Very disappointed. Have always been okay with paying more for Peter Millar items due to their previous high quality. Looks like they are beginning to abandon that. Hope they turn it around.

Color misrepresented
The advertised color was much lighter than the vest I actually received. Very disappointed, sent vest back. Light galaxy bright blue was advertised and received dull dark almost navy blue

Sharp vest.

Cost cutting design changes
Lower quality compared to previous versions with subtle design elements removed and less pockets which is what made the Essex (and Suffolk) collection unique. Sadly rather than deliver on quality, the brand has decided to focus on profit.

Disappointed!!!
This is the 3rd Essex vest I have bought for my husband. I am very disappointed in the quality of this vest. It is definitely well made and the fit is perfect however the lining is non existent. It is very thin. Your company is known for a quality products however this time I feel duped

New Essex model is a disappointment
The quality is considerably lower than previous Essex vests. I bought 3 Essex vests 3 years ago and the construction and design are much, much better. I am very disappointed with the new version.

Thanks for the redesign back to the old style!
I bought my first Peter Miller vest (what became the Essex vest ) over 10 years ago in Oxford, Mississippi. I added the more recent versions with the brown suede piping…the brown never looked right with my blue and grey wardrobe; I always went back to the old style Essex vest with the same color piping as the vest. And I’m dumping the brown suede piping vests for this new version that looks just like my 10 year old vest. Time for the refresh…Awesome product! Thanks again!

Great new Vest.
This is an elegant vest. However, the color shown online is much darker than what we received. Otherwise; not 5-stars but no other complaints. The adjustable snap-tabs on back of vest are very handy. What's with the bottle opener in the pocket???

I had to have two!
Second purchase. While I love the new green vest, I purchased a blue one last year. Zipper pocket is placed in another location. I liked the last year placement of this zipper pocket. Everything else is good. I wear this with slacks and a nice shirt and it looks pretty dressy for a vest. Good purchase.

Amazing Essex vests
These vests are amazing. They are lightweight yet keep you warm. They fit great, and there are lots of pockets. They are available in many colors, and they even come with a bottle opener! You never know when you will need it. They arent cheap and rarely go on sale. Shipping is free. I have three different colors. Maybe I'll buy a fourth for Christmas!
